The Panorama of the European Film is an annual event that was launched by Misr International Films in 2004, and was incorporated under Zawya in 2014. After her mother’s death, Aziza tries to adopt but is blocked by legal and practical constraints. The film becomes an intimate portrait of desert life and a shared reflection on solitude, care and the question of motherhood.

Set across Egypt, Stations unfolds within mawlid gatherings and celebrations, where street performers weave classical Sufi stories into living ritual. Alongside these performances, we follow a small group of characters as they travel between shrines and mawlids, encountering rituals and teachings as lived experience. As the film moves through a series of spiritual stations, these encounters become a kind of testing, where performance and documentary intersect and old stories are lived in the present.

Yasmin Kamal is a British Egyptian director and producer with over 15 years of experience in the UK and the Middle East. Her career in film and television has been marked by significant contributions to award-winning projects, including the acclaimed Academy Award nominated and Emmy award-winning film, "The Square."
Driven by a passion for captivating and thought-provoking narratives with social, political and historical significance, Yasmin is experienced in producing top-tier documentaries and unscripted series for prominent platforms such as Netflix, the BBC, National Geographic among other networks and production companies.
Currently, she is particularly focused on current affairs and undertaking social and cultural projects aimed at creating a positive impact that can strengthen understanding of communities through the art of storytelling.
